Led the state of Oklahoma in scoring as junior (35.0 ppg) and senior (35.2 ppg) at Lawton Christian High School, while leading team to back-to-back Oklahoma Christian Athletic Association state championships in 2005 and 2006...named 2006 Oklahoma Christian Athletic Association Player of Year...was a four-time Oklahoma Christian School Athletic Association all-state selection and was named first team all-state by the Oklahoma City Oklahoman in 2004, 2005 and 2006...also averaged 10.3 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 3.9 steals as senior, while shooting 60.7 percent from floor, including 47.4 percent from three-point range, and 82.4 percent at free throw line...scored over 40 points in nine games in career...owns school career (3,244-25.9 ppg) and single-season (980) scoring records...during the 2004-05 season Young scored 40 or more points in six games, 50 or more points on three occasions, including a school-record 64 points against Alex High School...also averaged 8.2 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 5.9 steals as junior...scored 25 points in 2005 state championship victory past Windsor Hills...three-time All-Sooner Conference selection...four-time Lawton Constitution All-Area team...played AAU basketball for the Oklahoma Trotters and Team Oklahoma...accumulated perfect 4.0 grade-point average throughout high school...four-year letterwinner in track...was a member of Epsilon Chi and is listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, while belonging to the Lawton Christian School Leadership Group.
